This swing was a miracle worker for us, so I'm surprised there are only negative reviews on this site (Target.com has more reviews).We have had the swing for a month and it continues to work for us. During the first couple of weeks, our daughter did not want to sleep in her bassinet or crib, but she would instantly fall asleep in this swing.WHAT I LOVEThe swing was very easy to assemble. Overall, the swing is pretty simple (just goes back and forth and has one sound), but it works for us - especially at the price we were able to get it at. The swing makes a mechanical noise (you won't get any lullabies or nature sounds). The mechanical noise almost sounds like horse hooves walking down the street, but the noise seems to calm the baby.WHAT I DON'T LIKEThe swing takes four C batteries and it can eat them up pretty quickly. We used the swing a lot and had to replace the batteries within the first two weeks. It would be great if there was a timer on the swing - otherwise we find ourselves falling asleep at the same time as our baby and the swing stays on for hours. The other reviews mention that it stops working after a while - we haven't experienced that (yet anyway), but I can tell that the swing motion weakens when I put a heavy blanket down.I have to give this swing five stars because there are so many nights when we finally got some sleep because of it! It doesn't have a lot of features, but it does a great job of what we needed most - making her fall asleep!

We got this swing for our baby, and it does not work. I give it one star for the cute fabric. The assembly directions were difficult to understand, it makes a horrible noise in the motor, and the speed is not consistent. It will almost stop completely or speed up so fast that it scares our little girl. I can't leave her in it without supervising her the whole time. I contacted Graco to ask about the noise and they told me that it usually sounds like an electric can opener or a baby's heartbeat in an ultrasound (neither of which are quiet noises). They offered to send me a replacement motor, which they have yet to do. Also, the harness to strap her in is ridiculously difficult to snap while she's in it.Super disappointed, I don't know if any of the other "swing by me" models are any better, but DON'T BUY THIS SWING!!7/30/12 UPDATEI did receive a new motor from Graco (6 months later), and the swing is much quieter and works better. Still fairly disappointed since my daughter has outgrown it now.

We bought this swing for upstairs in our bedroom and the Fisher Price my little snugabunny one for downstairs. We LOVED this swing for the first 3 months. Yes, the motor is a little loud, but it's not that bad. Two weeks ago I put my 14lb 3 month old in the swing and 30 minutes later hear a loud bang. The swings sizable legs had collapsed causing the front of the swing to collapse to the size 1 length, while the back legs stayed at the size 2 extended length. Thank goodness I was right there in the room and my son was buckled in. If he had not been buckled in, he surly would have fallen out of the swing and been severely injured. We never move the swing and my husband, who is a mechanical engineer, put the swing together. So we know it was nothing we did to cause the swing to collapse. If you are looking for a good quality and SAFE swing, go with the Fisher Price my little snugabunny. We have had no issues with it and it's only $30 more than this piece of crap.
