I got this chair as a gift from a friend. She had shown me pictures and I was in love with the colours. (My chair is not "On the Run", it's "Ashford" pattern - I've uploaded a photo). In my chair search, I wanted ease of use, long-term use, and sturdiness. Then perhaps bonus features if any, like entertainment value.EASE OF USE: Setting up the chair was pretty easy. The stands snap into place and the seat is completely removable and washes (gentle cycle) and dries (delicate cycle) very easily without colour fading upon stain removing application (which we needed after the second use!). [PLEASE NOTE: The manufacturer does not recommend dryer use for the seat cover. I found that out afterwards. Maybe it might shrink; praise God mine didn't. I haven't washed it since and will not be putting it in the dryer again.] The seat can be a little difficult to put back on though and needed my husbands strength to stretch the fabric so that I could snap it into place (This happens whether we line dry or tumble dried that one time).- It has a five point harness that is, for me, quite annoying even though it's necessary. The shoulder straps have covers that do not stay put so they are always sliding off and getting in the way whenever I attempt to slide the buckles in place. This is even worse once baby is in the chair because it becomes tedious trying to figure out which strap is which out of the four that are behind him. In the end, I usually recline the seat to the second position, tuck the shoulder straps away, and just use the waist straps to hold him in place.- The reclining feature works very well.- Transporting the chair is a task. As easy as is it to setup, the legs fold in nicely, but we have had immense trouble trying to pull the seat out. I guess this is good for stability but bad for portability. We end up leaving this at home and in one room of the house.- Baby is extremely comfortable. Moves hands, kicks feet, wiggles and laughs while he swings.- It's higher than most other chairs so I don't have to bend as much to reach my baby.LONG-TERM USE: The chair goes up to 25lbs. That means, after 6 months, I will have to purchase another chair (or get one as a gift... hint hint!) That doesn't please me too much but it's something I can live with since I got this one as a gift. However, it is something to be weighed if you are a new mom out there looking for a long-term chair. At $79 for this 6 month swing versus $44 for an infant-to-toddler rocker or bouncer that your child can use for at least one year. (PLEASE SEE COMMENT BELOW THAT CORRECTS THIS ASSUMPTION I'VE MADE!!!) Subsequent to the original publishing of this review, I have met a one year old girl who would techincally still qualify for this swing as she is only 20lbs. However, she loves to walk around so I'm not sure what it would do for her since at this height, her feet wouldn't touch the floor. She may like it when she is tired and wants to swing herself...STURDINESS: Well, so far so good. Fabric doing well, very stable as I mentioned before. It does well here.ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: Well, there aren't many bonus features. The swing works on 4 C-size batteries and does just that: swing. It would have been nice if the mobile had weights in it to encourage it to rotate as the swing goes back and forth or something but it doesn't. It would have been nice if there was a little music somewhere, especially now that baby is 4 months old and loves to touch and be stimulated, but there isn't. However, this chair provides a great opportunity for moms who want to be involved in stimulating their children as there are no other distractions on the chair and baby will focus on you and your flash cards and face etc. and it will all happen at a good height (what I mean is, if you're sitting in a chair, baby is high enough for you to sit up and engage. You don't have to bend over as you would with the infant-to-toddler rockers or bouncers.ON A PERSONAL NOTE: This chair seems to encourage BMs (bowel movements) in my baby. If your baby has explosive BMs, you may want to put on something that can be a possible barrier between the chair and the baby or you will be washing this chair cover everyday... and as I've already told you, taking it off is easy... putting it back on is the hard part.Hope this helped.
